Tipping in Mauritania can be common for some. If you look like you have money, you will be expected to tip. Something to keep that in mind when packing. While the desert of Mauritania is amazing and it is also home of a UNESCO site and one of the longest trains, you should be very careful when visiting. Tipping in Sri Lanka is custom and the way of life. If you go to Sri Lanka you should expect to tip. While tipping is the norm, the prices are still cheap so it wont break the bank. Taxis: Tipping Taxi Drivers in Sri Lanka is common. You should round up the total fare. If taking a day tour with a driver you should aim to tip 750 – 1500 Rupees a day. Hotels: Some hotels in Sri Lanka will have a service charge included. You should check before hand, but if not then 100 RS a day to the maid and 50-100 Rs to the bell boy for bags.
