Tipping in Jordan is common and can be expected. Jordan in one of the best destinations of the Middle East. Its rich in history and has some amazing things to offer. Taxis: Its common to round up the taxi fare to the nearest whole amount.
Hotels: You should tip the bellboy 1-2 JD per bag. If staying a few nights then you should leave the maid 2 JD a night.
Restaurants: Sometimes a service charge of 10% is included. You should aim to tip 5-10% even if it is included though.
Bars: Aim to tip 5-10% of the total bill.
Other: If you are araning a private tour or driver you should agree on a total price up front. Only if service is exceptionally well should you tip an extra 5-10%. Otherwise on group tours check with the tour operator, usually its 5% per person for the guide and/or driver.
